Laurent est né de mon premier mariage avec Sompong. Après mon divorce, quatre ans plus tard, il a rejoint Martine, ma nouvelle compagne, qui est devenue mon épouse. Martine, qui l’a adopté officiellement, l’a élevé avec un amour inconditionnel et a joué un rôle essentiel dans sa vie, contribuant à faire de lui l’homme exceptionnel qu’il est devenu.

Son enfance fut celle d’un garçon calme, gentil, câlin et affectueux. Durant son adolescence, il ne nous a jamais causé de soucis. Alors que nous vivions à Toulouse, il a poursuivi ses études au lycée Fermat. Bien qu’il ait été fils unique, il a grandi entouré d’amis et ne cessait de nous surprendre par son autonomie. Il trouvait lui-même ses stages, y compris dans de grands magasins, sans jamais nous solliciter. Il fit même un stage à l’étranger, à Longueuil, au Québec, dans le cadre de ses études. Cela nous conduisit, quelques années plus tard, à émigrer au Québec, où il acheva ses études à l'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), en obtenant un diplôme en gestion des affaires.

Laurent a débuté sa carrière dans une importante entreprise agroalimentaire comme acheteur. C’est également au Québec qu’il rencontra Martine Lampron, une opticienne qui devint son épouse et avec laquelle il eut trois magnifiques enfants. En 2018, Laurent rejoignit l’entreprise familiale, Gestion Geneen Inc., où il prit en charge la comptabilité et la gestion de l’immobilier tout en participant à nos activités financières. Il devint ainsi mon précieux collaborateur, très apprécié de nos partenaires d’affaires pour sa compétence, son amabilité légendaire et son sourire.

Laurent n’était pas seulement un professionnel accompli, mais aussi un véritable humaniste. Il était profondément attentif aux autres, sensible à leur bien-être et toujours prêt à aider, ce qui le rendait aimé de tous ceux qui le croisaient.

Le 3 juin 2024, au volant du pick-up de ses rêves, il perdit le contrôle de celui-ci et disparut à jamais. En ce 25 février, il aurait fêté ses quarante ans, comme d’habitude, en famille.

Après ce drame, notre fils unique a laissé un vide immense dans nos vies, un vide que rien ni personne ne pourra combler. Pourtant, nous puisons la force de continuer notre chemin dans l’amour qu’il nous a donné et dans les souvenirs précieux qu’il nous a laissés. Nous restons reconnaissants pour les 39 ans de bonheur que nous avons partagés avec lui et pour l’opportunité de lui offrir, à notre manière, une vie remplie d’amour et de tendresse. Laurent vivra à jamais dans nos cœurs, nous guidant par son souvenir, et nous nous efforcerons d’être heureux, comme il l’aurait voulu.

Laurent excellait dans son rôle de père de famille et menait une vie harmonieuse avec son épouse, Martine Lampron, avec laquelle il partageait quinze belles années de vie commune.

Tribute to Laurent Sensemat (February 25, 1985 – June 3, 2024)

Laurent was born from my first marriage with Sompong. After my divorce, four years later, he joined Martine, my new partner, who became my wife. Martine, who officially adopted him, raised him with unconditional love and played a crucial role in his life, helping shape him into the exceptional man he became.

His childhood was that of a calm, kind, affectionate, and loving boy. During his teenage years, he never gave us any trouble. While we were living in Toulouse, he pursued his studies at Lycée Fermat. Although he was an only child, he grew up surrounded by friends and constantly amazed us with his independence. He found his own internships, including in major retail stores, without ever asking us for help. He even completed an internship abroad in Longueuil, Quebec, as part of his studies. This led us, a few years later, to immigrate to Quebec, where he completed his studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), earning a degree in business management.

Laurent began his career as a buyer in a major agri-food company. It was also in Quebec that he met Martine Lampron, an optician who became his wife and with whom he had three beautiful children. In 2018, Laurent joined the family business, Gestion Geneen Inc., where he took charge of accounting and real estate management while also participating in our financial activities. He became my invaluable collaborator, highly regarded by our business partners for his competence, his legendary kindness, and his warm smile.

Laurent was not only a skilled professional but also a true humanist. He was deeply caring towards others, sensitive to their well-being, and always ready to help, which made him beloved by all who knew him.

On June 3, 2024, while driving the pickup truck of his dreams, he lost control and was gone forever. On this February 25, he would have celebrated his 40th birthday, as always, with his family.

After this tragedy, our only son left an immense void in our lives, one that nothing and no one can ever fill. Yet, we find the strength to move forward through the love he gave us and the precious memories he left behind. We remain grateful for the 39 years of happiness we shared with him and for the opportunity to give him, in our own way, a life full of love and tenderness. Laurent will forever live in our hearts, guiding us through his memory, and we will strive to be happy, just as he would have wanted.

Laurent excelled as a devoted father and led a harmonious life with his wife, Martine Lampron, with whom he shared fifteen wonderful years.
